- Peel off the vazhaikai/ plantain skin and cut into round thin slices..
- In a bowl, add besan flour, rice flour, idli batter, asafoetida, baking soda, chilli powder and salt. Mix well..
- Add required water and mix well. The batter must not be too thick nor too watery. If it's too watery Bajji will absorb more oil..
- In a kadai, add oil for deep frying. Once oil gets heat, keep the flame in medium. Dip the vazhaikai/ plantain pieces in the batter and put in oil..
- Deep fry till it turns golden brown colour. Take it out and drain them in an absorbent paper..
- Now it's ready to serve. Serve with tomato sauce or green coconut chutney..
